A Marine’s Journey
I, Kalam Benjamin, served as a marine sergeant for many years, a role that demanded discipline, physical endurance, and a commitment to service. After retiring, I looked forward to a life of relaxation in sunny Florida with my wife Liza and our two wonderful sons, both of whom are now in college pursuing their dreams. Life slowed down after my years in the military, and while I treasured the peaceful routine, I noticed a significant change in my health.
Retirement brought with it a more sedentary lifestyle, and before I knew it, I had gained a considerable amount of weight. Obesity started to take a toll on my energy, confidence, and overall well-being. Recognizing the need for change, I sought guidance from my doctor, who suggested a low-carb diet to manage my weight and improve my health. That’s when I stumbled upon the Paleo diet, and it changed everything.
